Mentioning (or "tagging") your team members is the perfect way to bring their attention to action items within tasks.

How to Mention Users

As with almost all forms of team communication in ClickUp, mentioning happens within a task's activity feed. To mention a team member: 

  1. Begin commenting in a task
  2. Type the @ symbol or click the shortcut below the comment field to bring up the user-selector
  3. Choose desired user

Results

  • When you mention a team member, he or she will automatically become a watcher of that task. 
  • When the user views the task, the comment that he or she is mentioned in will be highlighted
  • Tagged users will see their names highlighted in their notification feeds. This helps users identify their most important action items as they scan their notifications.
