List Templates

How to save List templates

  1. Locate the List you would like to save as a Template
  2. Click the List's ellipses ...  in the left sidebar
  3. Select Save as Template

This reveals granular options for your new List Template:

  • Pick a name for your new Template
  • Include everything, or pick and choose what you want to carry over

How to load List templates

  1. Click the ellipses ...  for a Project in the sidebar
  2. Select List from Template 
  3. Select an existing List Template
  4. Enter a name for your new List
  5. Choose what to include (import) with the List
  6. If you have due dates within the List, you can import them as is, or you can remap them

Remapping will preserve the time-to-complete intended by your due dates without having to manually update them each time you create from a Template.

Project Templates

The process for saving a Project Template is virtually the same as saving a List Template:

  1. Locate the Project you would like to save as a Template
  2. Click the Project's ellipses ...  in the sidebar
  3. Select Save as Template 
  4. Choose a name for the Template
  5. Include everything, or pick and choose what to carry over
  6. You can also choose to save the Custom Statuses used in this Project

How to load Project templates

  1. Click the ellipses ...  beside the PROJECTS heading in your sidebar
  2. Select the "Templates" tab to select an existing Project template
  3. Add a name for the new Project
  4. Choose what should be imported into the new Project

Space Templates

How to save Spaces as Templates

  1. In the Spaces Bar, click the ellipses ...  next to the Space you would like to save as a Template
  2. Select Save as Template 

How to load Space templates

  1. Click + Create Space at the far right of your Spaces Bar
  2. Select the "Templates" tab from the popup that appears
  3. Provide the name of your new Space and select the Template that it will be created from
  4. Choose what should be imported into the new Space

How to save Tasks as a Template

  1. Open a task
  2. Click the task actions menu in the ellipses ...
  3. Click Save as a Template 
  4. Create a new template or overwrite an existing template
  5. Choose what to include in future iterations of this template
  6. Click Save Template   

How to Delete a Template

  1. Click a Project or List's ellipses in the sidebar
  2. Select Save as Template 
  3. Hover over the template you want to delete in the "Template Name" dropdown
  4. Click the red X  to delete

How to edit Templates

  1. Create a new Space, Project, List, workflow, or checklist using an existing Template
  2. Make the required changes
  3. Save the new item as a Template, but instead of saving as a new Template, find the existing Template and overwrite it

Template Privacy

Templates like these are created within a Space, and, therefore, only users with access to that Space are able to use them. More information on Space privacy can be found here.
