Command Center combines ClickUp's legacy QuickSwitch and Search features. With

Command Center you can find items and instantly navigate around your Workspace.

You can also do things like create tasks, open your calendar, or change an assignee, without taking your hands off your keyboard.

You can still access the legacy versions of Search and QuickSwitch. Command Center is QuickSwitch, Search, and more in just one place to save you clicks!

What you'll need

  • Command Center is available on all ClickUp Plans.

  • Some menu items depend on user roles and permissions.

  • The available commands will vary depending on which part of ClickUp you are working in.

We'll cover

Open Command Center

You can open Command Center using keyboard shortcuts or your mouse.

  • Use Cmd + K on a Mac.

  • Use Ctrl + K on a PC.

  • Click the Command Center icon next to Search in the Sidebar.

Recent Tasks

When you open Command Center, recent tasks are featured at the top.

Your most recently opened tasks are available right in Command Center so you can easily access them!

Hover your mouse over any task to:

  • Copy link: Copy the task URL to your clipboard.

  • Tray: Minimize the task to the task tray.

  • New Tab: Open the task in a new tab.

To view older recent tasks, click See more in the top-right corner of the search results.

Switch between Workspaces

You can quickly switch between Workspaces using the Switch Workspace command.

  1. From Command Center, type Switch.

  2. Select the Switch Workspace command.

  3. Browse or start typing the name of a Workspace.

  4. Choose the Workspace and press Return to switch.

Search your Workspace with Command Center

Use Command Center to find items in your Workspace.

  1. From Command Center, type a search term into the search bar.

  2. Filter your search results using the top row of options to show tasks, Docs, Whiteboards, chats, files, or people.

    Tip: You also can enter a category name into the search bar. For example, type "tasks" or "Docs" to filter results by those categories.

  3. Navigate your search results using up and down arrow keys or scrolling with your mouse.

  4. Hover your mouse over any task to:

    • Copy link: Copy the task URL to your clipboard.

    • Tray: Minimize the task to the task tray.

    • New Tab: Open the task in a new tab.

  5. Press Return or click with your mouse to open an item.

Navigate through your Workspace with Command Center

The Command Center menu has options to perform actions, QuickSwitch to a new location, search specific locations, and go to settings menus in your Workspace.

  1. From Command Center browse the four top-level menus:

    • Actions: Create tasks, Docs, Reminders, record a clip, open Notepad, and more!

    • QuickSwitch: Quickly access things like Home, Notifications, Docs, and Dashboards.

    • Search: Find specific items in your Workspace.

    • Settings: Users can access their account settings.

    • Workspace settings: Available for Workspace owners and admins to access Workspace settings.

    • Sharing: Access the sharing menu for the item you're working on.

  2. Navigate the submenus using up and down arrow keys or scrolling with your mouse.

  3. Press Return or Enter or click with your mouse to open a submenu to perform an action, go to a location, search, or access settings.

Open Favorites

You can open your Favorite tasks, views, Docs, Dashboards, and more using Command Center:

  1. From Command Center type Open Favorites.

  2. Press Return.

  3. Type in the name of a favorite or use the arrow keys to select a favorite to open.

  4. Press Return to open your Favorite item.

Share locations and items from Command Center

You can share the following:

  • Tasks

  • Docs

  • Whiteboards

  • Chats

  • Folders

  • Pages

  • Lists

  • Views

  • Dashboards

  • Goals

  • Goal Folders

To share using Command Center:

  1. Open the location or item.

  2. Use Cmd + K to open Command Center.

  3. Type "share" to quickly access the Sharing section. You can also select All from the top row of options.

  4. Either way, scroll down to the Sharing section.

  5. Select a location or item.

    • If you select an item, like a Whiteboard, you'll also have the option to share that item's location.

  6. The Share modal will open.

Legacy versions of Search and QuickSwitch

Legacy Search and QuickSwitch are still available.

  • Click the Search bar in the Sidebar to access legacy Search
