Make sure your people are using the right user roles to be productive in your Workspace! You can convert anyone to any role.
When you convert someone, their access and permissions will be updated to reflect their new role. They will have access to the features available for that role.
What you'll need
Only Workspace owners and admins can convert members to guests and guests to members
Guests, members, and admins are always free on our Free Forever Plan
On paid Plans, you may be billed if you don't have any member or paid guest seats available

Convert a guest to a member
Ready to bring a guest onto your team? You can easily convert them to a member.
If a guest has been given explicit access to certain items, they'll keep those permissions when they become a member. They'll also get access to everything that's been shared with your Workspace.
Click your Workspace avatar in the lower-left corner
Select People
Click the Guests tab
Set your guest's Role to Member
The guest will be converted to a member

Convert a member to a guest
If a member doesn't need full access to your Workspace, you can convert them to a guest.
When a member becomes a guest, they won't have access to certain features, and they'll lose access to anything they haven't been explicitly invited to work on.
Click your Workspace avatar in the lower-left corner
Select People
Set your member's Role to Guest
The member will be converted to a guest

Promote a user to an admin
Promoting a guest or member to an admin gives them the ability to manage your Workspace.
Click your Workspace avatar in the lower-left corner
Select People
Or switch to the Guests tab
Set the user's Role to Admin
The user will be converted to an admin
