How to Mention People in a task
As with almost all forms of team communication in ClickUp, mentioning happens within a task's activity feed. To mention a person:
Begin commenting in a task by typing in the comment or task description area
Type the @ symbol, or click the @ shortcut below the comment field to bring up the person-selector
Choose the desired person (names are prioritized by how often you tag them) or an entire Team!
Mention assignees or followers directly using
When you mention a person in a comment, he or she will automatically become a watcher of that task. If they are mentioned in the task description, they will not be added as a watcher automatically.
When the person views the task, the comment that he or she is mentioned in will be highlighted
When people are tagged in a comment, they will see their names highlighted in their notification feeds. If you select notifications for the task description, people will also receive a notification. This helps people identify their most important action items as they scan their notifications.

Begin commenting at the bottom of the view
Type the @ symbol
Choose the desired person
How to Mention People in a Docs
Type the @ symbol
Choose the desired person. Keep in mind, this person must have access to the Doc for them to be tagged.
Click on their name to mention them in the Doc. This will notify the user that they have been mentioned in the Doc.
Note: if you are mentioning a user in a private location, the user must first be invited to this location. Otherwise, they will not receive a notification of this mention!
