Use Toggl Track with ClickUp

You can use Toggl to track time against ClickUp tasks, and automatically sync time tracked with Toggl back to ClickUp!

Getting Started

In your ClickUp Workspace, enable the Time Tracking ClickApp for the Spaces where you want to track time. An admin or the Workspace owner must do this.

Make sure you have the Toggl Track: Productivity & Time Tracker Chrome extension.

Note: As the Toggl integration depends on their Chrome Extension, it is not available to use with the ClickUp desktop app.

Next, give Toggl Track approval to access ClickUp:

  1. Click the Toggl Track button in your web browser

  2. Click the Settings gear icon

  3. Select Integrations on the left sidebar

  4. Search ClickUp.com in the Filter Integrations search bar

  5. Check the box next to ClickUp.com

  6. Click Allow

You should now see the Toggl Track button visible in task view!

You can now track time without ever leaving ClickUp, and the time tracked will be available in Toggl! 🎉

If you want to sync your Toggl time entries back to ClickUp, follow the steps in the next section. Or skip ahead to the Start Tracking Time section.

Sync Time Tracked from Toggl to ClickUp

In order for Toggl Track to connect time tracked with the appropriate person in ClickUp, each user will have to set up the integration with their Toggl API key.

Link ClickUp and Toggl:

  1. Go to your Toggl Track profile: https://toggl.com/app/profile

  2. Scroll down to the API Token field, and click to reveal the token

  3. Copy the token from the API Token field

  4. Hop back to your ClickUp Workspace

  5. Click Settings in your avatar menu, and find Time Tracking under My Apps in the sidebar

  6. Select Toggl

  7. Paste your Toggl API token into ClickUp

  8. Click Sync Toggl

Start Tracking Time

To start or stop tracking time, simply click the Toggl button on a task!

Note: time entries deleted in Toggl will not be removed from ClickUp.
